Take your gaming skills to the next level, and compete nationally, with the Esports Academy here at Weston College!

Our state-of-the-art facilities and competitive gaming environment provide the perfect platform for you to hone your talents and compete on a national level. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting your esports tournament journey, we're here to help you succeed.

Please note: You do not have to be studying Esports to try out - everybody is welcome in the academy.

As part of the British Esports Student Championships, there’s also an opportunity to get involved with the Women in Esports division if you identify yourself as female or a marginalised gender. Last year this was exclusively in Overwatch but may expand further in 2023-24 – currently awaiting details from British Esports!

How it Works:

Email will.price@weston.ac.uk for your opportunity to try out.  

 

 

Try outs will be one-two weeks prior to Esports Academy/British Esports matches which are estimated to begin on 27th September. We will reach out to you via Teams to invite you to try out. This will be your opportunity to showcase your skills and demonstrate why you deserve a place on the team! If you are successful in your try out, we will invite you to join the team. The academy takes place on Wednesdays, from 3-6pm at Knightstone Campus.

Alongside training with your teammates and with the support of our manager and coaches to help developing strategy and refining your gameplay, you will also compete with colleges across the UK! 

Beyond gaming, the academy focuses on personal growth and development. Learn essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and time management that will benefit you both in and out of the gaming arena.
