In just 25 working days, we are already over halfway to reaching our goal of enrolling 300 people onto an apprenticeship!

We set ourselves the ambitious goal to achieve 300 sign-ups for apprenticeships, in just 50 working days. We're half way through our time, at 25 days, but well over the number of enrolments, at 167 already!

Hi, I am Nichola and will be organising your placements for the duration of your Health and Social Care course here at Weston College. I have been working closely with Health and Social Care employers in North Somerset and the surrounding areas for over 6 years to enable successful work placements for our learners. I have had over 25 years experience in this sector from Care in the Community to Management, Outreach Support for Vulnerable Adults, pioneering the Home from Hospital scheme at Weston General Hospital.

Weston College has been crowned as the Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2022 – this is the fourth time the College has been presented with this accolade.

The winners of the 2022 Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Awards were announced at a special event at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.

The ceremony, held at the home of Bristol City FC and the Bristol Bears rugby side on Tuesday, May 17, celebrated the best and brightest learners in the region and the companies helping them succeed.

The winners of the 2022 Annual Apprenticeship Conference (AAC) Awards have been revealed at a glitzy ceremony in Birmingham, with Weston College being named as the Engineering and Manufacturing Apprenticeship Provider of the Year.

The AAC Apprenticeship Awards are supported by FE Week and AELP (Association of Employment and Learning Providers) and it celebrates apprenticeships across the UK – this year it received a staggering 370 nominations for the awards.

Exciting New Fire Fighter Apprenticeship Begins

In partnership with Avon Fire and Rescue (AF&RS), Weston College has launched the Operational Fire Fighter apprenticeship.

The new programme launched in January, with 24 people training to become fire fighters, at Severn Park in Avonmouth.

As part of the apprenticeship, the new recruits will work on everything from fitness, fire safety and practical skills such as breathing apparatus procedures, ladder training, hose management and road traffic collision operations.
