Weston College was delighted to welcome back its alumnus, Dave Trevaskus (now Head of Retail Training at the LEGO Group), for a full day of workshops on Thursday 2nd of October. Dave’s visit brought energy, insight, and a genuine sense of connection as he shared lessons from his own journey and encouraged learners and staff to see every challenge as a stepping stone and to encourage a playful mindset.

Last week, our T Level: Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction learners took part in a Speed Interview Day alongside 11 different construction employers. This event provided them with the invaluable opportunity to secure a placement as part of their T Level programme.

Carpentry Learners Upcycling Lasseter’s Furniture ahead of Renovation
Last month, our Carpentry learners kickstarted the first stages of the Lasseter’s Bar & Kitchen renovations by taking apart the old benches and outdoor seating area from the front of the property which they will repurpose as part of their Social Action Project.

Weston College Welcomes 900+ Visitors to Inspiring ‘What Next?’ Careers Event
On 24th September, Weston College welcomed over 900 local people to the Winter Gardens for the ‘What Next’ Careers Showcase for Year 10’s and 11’s.
A key date in the calendar, ‘What Next?’ is one of the biggest events of the year, showcasing so many opportunities for year 11 students, and this year’s event did not disappoint. Attendees had the opportunity to find out more about their potential career pathway; from meeting Weston College staff from all faculties, to speaking with a wide range of employers.
