How does an Apprenticeship work?
What happens when I start my Apprenticeship?
When you are offered an apprenticeship, you will start work and your training will begin.
An assessor specialising in your chosen area will meet with you at your workplace every four to five weeks to support you as you work towards your qualifications. They will set you assignments, complete observations and guide you towards achieving your Apprenticeship.
What happens when I finish my Apprenticeship?
Most Weston College apprentices continue working with their employer as a permanent member of staff. You can carry on with higher level qualifications, such as Level 3, 4 and 5 – which is equivalent to a Foundation Degree. If you do need to find more work after your Apprenticeship, the Apprenticeship Team will help.
Already employed? Undertake an Apprenticeship with your employer.
Many of our apprentices are already in employment. An Apprenticeship is an opportunity to gain a qualification in your current role and to help you develop your career. Contact the Apprenticeship Team for more information.
