This course will introduce you to the diversity of roles and responsibilities within the art, design and creative industries. Learn about the expansive opportunities and job roles within the creative industry and develop the personal and professional characteristics required for it.
Course Overview
They will develop the specific skills and attributes that are required for communicating with an audience and individuals in the production of art and design outcomes. Learners will develop their ability to manage their personal behaviours and will cement skills in English, Math’s and digital in order to aid progression opportunities and be ready for work, life and learning.
Learners will benefit from the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and skills through a portfolio of work designed and developed during a range of projects, I.D sessions and via their Final Major Project.
L2 and L3 will also take part in Work Experience within the Creative Industries. This will also include putting on their own exhibitions and showcase events.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9-2 with at least two at grade 4 , including Maths & English at a grade 3 or a qualifying Level 1 qualification They must display a keen interest in Art and have some exciting visual work to show/discuss to support their interest in the subject area.
Progressions
Together, the components of this program allow for the learner to be prepared with both transferable skills and a motivation towards further learning on a level 3 program (Graphic Design, Art & Design, Photography, Game & Animation, etc.) or for paid employment.
Trip Information
Education Visits to local and national museums and galleries ( eg. Bristol, Oxford & London) Residentials to London and Cornwall. (Overnight trips to inspire and inform creative practice)
Uniform Information
We will give out a comprehensive equipment list during Welcome Day and Enrolment. We will provide any specialist equipment needed for workshops.
Timetable
Timetable depends on level, typically 3 or 4 days also depending on whether learners need to do Maths and English. UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Pre-Degree) - Timetable is 12 core hours plus 1.5 hours of tutorials and 1.5 hours of steps (employability sessions)
