The BTEC Computing is a two-year programme designed to give learners the opportunity to experience all aspects of computing, from programming, Cyber Security and Digital Design. The skills taught on the programme are aligned to industry needs with employers actively engaging with the curriculum. Learners could progress to employment in the computing sector, or a relevant degree/degree apprenticeship program. The programme is equivalent to three A-Levels.
What will I study?
The programme will complete the following modules:
- Software Design and Development Project
- IT Systems Security and Encryption
- Business Applications of Social Media
- Digital Graphics and Animation
- Computer Games Development
- Website Development
- Principles of Computer Science
Work Experience
All learners will take part in a mandatory work experience of 37 hours which can be completed across the two years of the programme.
Assessment Method
You will be assessed through exams and project work throughout the programme.
Entry Requirements
Learners on this course will need a minimum of 5x GCSEs at grades 4 – 9.
What can this course lead to?
Learners could progress to employment in the computing sector, or a relevant degree/degreeapprenticeship program.
