Counselling

Counselling offers an opportunity to talk about personal issues in a private and relaxed setting with someone who plays no other role in your college life. It is a free service, which could help with relationship difficulties, anxiety/stress, self-esteem, loss, addiction, decision making and moving on.

If you’re leaving school or in College and still not sure what to do our Advice and Guidance Team can help you make an informed choice about the way forward. Staff are qualified to provide you with the information, advice and guidance you may need on the wide range of courses the College has to offer and their related career pathways.

Welfare

Pastoral support at Weston College can be accessed by registered students through your personal tutor, the Welfare Officer or any member of the Students' Union. Welfare offers the opportunity to access information and advice on a wide range of issues which would impact on your studies including course/college concerns, health, accommodation, friendships and finance.

Childcare

All 16 to 20 year old parents joining Weston College are entitled to FREE childcare through the Care to Learn scheme. For older students, a limited number of subsidised childcare places are available if you are on a low income or in receipt of a range of income-based benefits through the Learner Support Fund.

Health issues

The College Healthcare Assistant offers confidential support and guidance across a range of areas including support to stop smoking, sexual health, weight management, medical healthcare plans and emotional well-being.

Learning support

Our aim at Weston College is for all students with additional support needs to have equal access to the curriculum and work towards meeting their full potential with our support. The need for additional learning support may arise from a learning difficulty and/or disability.

We have a dedicated and highly qualified Learning Support Team with experience and knowledge of a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities who will identify and arrange the necessary support to enable students to achieve their individual learning goals.
