Care Assistant Apprentice at CARING STAFF SOLUTIONS LTD

Daily duties:

  • Help people who live here with all personal care needs, including, bathing, taking people to the toilet, dressing and undressing, ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of all individuals that live at the Home and adhere to the Dementia Care Matters philosophy
  • Carry out care activity in accordance with the care plan for less active people, particularly turning and moving to reduce the risk of development of pressure sores, as requested by the person in charge
  • Act courteously towards people who live here and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each person and ensuring they feel ‘At home’
  • Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks and in particular moving and handling, by assessing risk and having due regard for personal safety and the safety of people who live here, visitors and your colleagues
  • Responsible for the safe and tidy storage of supplies and equipment
  • Carry out care activity in accordance with the care plan for less active people, particularly turning and moving to reduce the risk of development of pressure sores, as requested by the person in charge

Manor Park is an award-winning nursing home in Weston Super Mare, providing specialised care for people with dementia, or those requiring respite or palliative care. Situated close to both the sea front and town centre, we are a Dementia Care Matters Butterfly Service ® Home because our standard of dementia care adheres to a highly-acclaimed national level of person-centred care.

Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard

Usually over the course of 12 – 18 months (dependent upon the level of course an apprentice is being enrolled onto, and the hours worked), you will study modules such as personal development in care settings, the responsibilities of a care worker, handling information in care settings, implementing person-centered care plans, safeguarding & protection in care settings, duty of care in care settings, communication in care settings, equality & inclusion in care settings and health & safety and wellbeing in care settings (these units may differ).

Functional Skills in English and maths if required.

Training and training location to be confirmed.
