 Course Overview 

This two-year T Level is designed to provide a technical alternative to A Levels and is equivalent to three A Levels. Developed with employers, the course ensures you gain the skills most valued by the tech industry, from coding and development to project management and digital innovation. 

At Knightstone Campus, you’ll study in industry-standard facilities with access to the latest software, development tools, and collaborative spaces. Experienced tutors with professional backgrounds in digital production and IT will guide your learning and provide real-world insights. 

T Levels offer a high-quality technical alternative to A Levels. Developed in collaboration with employers, they ensure that students gain the precise knowledge and skills the industry is looking for. Each T Level is equivalent to three A Levels, demonstrating the depth and thoroughness of the qualification. 

As a Weston College learner, you’ll also join our Digital Career Excellence Hub, giving you access to industry-led projects, employer encounters, and opportunities that help you become career ready. 

 What will I study? 

Your programme will cover key areas including: 

  • Software development and programming languages
  • Database design and management 
  • Networking fundamentals 
  • Cybersecurity principles 
  • User experience (UX) and interface design 
  • Digital project management 
  • Testing, debugging, and deployment of software 
  • Emerging technologies and industry trends 

You will also develop employability skills, including problem-solving, teamwork, and client communication, essential for success in the digital sector. 

 How will I be assessed? 

  • On-programme assessments through projects and practical tasks 
  • End-of-course examinations 
  • Employer-set projects during your industry placement 
  • Final T Level assessment including a synoptic project and employer evaluation 

Successful completion results in a nationally recognised certificate, graded pass, merit, or distinction, with UCAS points available for higher education progression.

 Entry requirements 

  • A minimum of five GCSEs at grades 9–4, including English and maths 
  • Interest in computing, coding, or digital design is essential 
  • No prior technical qualifications are required, but Level 2 IT or computing experience is advantageous
