Inclusive Practice Students Shine at National Football Tournaments
Recently, students from the Inclusive Practice Football Academy returned from two national tournaments with medals, trophies and unforgettable memories and life lessons in teamwork, resilience, and inclusive excellence. Led by George Fake, Mitch Spencer, and supported by staff including Nick Chadwick, Helen Mann, and Pete Lane, the squad competed in two high-level national disability football competitions within a month: the AoC National League Finals in Nottingham and the National Pan Ability Football Cup at St George’s Park.

Charlie's Path into Journalism and the Local Council

Since leaving Weston College, Charlie Williams has earned a BA in Multimedia Journalism at the University of Essex and a Master’s in Political Communication at the University of Leeds, appeared on BBC Radio 4, reported for the Weston Mercury, and been elected as the youngest councillor on Weston Town Council. Now working in Bristol and eyeing a future in national journalism — and even a PhD — Charlie’s journey is nothing short of inspiring.
Weston College and UCW Students Shine in the AHT Finals Competition
Following the South West Regional heats of the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) Competition hosted at Weston College, some of our HE and FE students progressed to the AHT Final in Blackpool that took place over 2 days.
Throughout the competitions, our FE and HE learners showcased exceptional skill, determination, and passion across the two days in each category, and this was truly reflected in the fantastic results of our students.

This exciting event will take place on Wednesday 18th June at Ashcombe Children's Centre with two sessions available:
Morning session: 9am – 10:30am
Afternoon session: 1pm – 2:30pm
Protective Services Students Participate in the Ten Tors Competition
Two teams from Weston College’s Protective Services department recently took on one of the UK’s most demanding endurance challenges: the Ten Tors competition on Dartmoor. Taking part in the 45-mile and 55-mile events respectively, both teams demonstrated exceptional determination and commitment, making their college proud in their first-ever appearance at the event.

Animal Management Students Build Birdhouses Across Puxton Park
This month, Animal Management students at Puxton Park Campus have been immersing themselves in an important conservation project as part of their Wildlife and Conservation module. The focus of this project has been on increasing biodiversity and supporting local bird populations through the construction and monitoring of birdhouses, specifically designed for sparrows and owls.
