Social Care, BTEC Extended Diploma
The Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma is a comprehensive programme designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the field of social care. This engaging and practical course offers a deep understanding of the principles, theories, and practices involved in supporting individuals with diverse needs. Throughout the diploma, you will develop key skills and knowledge necessary for working in various social care settings, such as residential care homes, community outreach programs, or disability services. You will have two pathway options in year 2 – Health Care and Social Care. These allow you to take a tailored approach to your career and select the best opportunities for progression. Year 1 of this qualification will provide you with the theoretical and practical underpinnings for your chosen industry pathway in year 2.

Please note that there is currently a review by the Department for Education on a number of level 3 qualifications as part of a national education review. While we hope to offer this course in the upcoming academic year, its availability may be subject to change following the conclusion of the review, which we hope will be concluded by December 2024. We understand this uncertainty may be disruptive and appreciate your patience and understanding during this period of Government review, please be reassured that we are planning for all outcomes and are in no doubt that whatever the results of the review, we will be able to provide you with the right qualification and pathway to support you with your career goals and next steps.
