This qualification is intended to introduce participants to the concept of safeguarding and the Prevent duty. By the end of the course participants will understand the basic principles, the signs of abuse and neglect alongside the methods of abuse. They will also know their responsibilities around safeguarding and the Prevent Duty and the responsibilities of their own organisation.
Who is the training for?
This training is ideal for anyone working with children, young people and vulnerable adults (potentially in care, childcare or education), in particular those in management or supervisory roles (possibly managing 16–18-year-old apprentices) and would be applicable to people in roles associated with wellbeing and pastoral support roles. Others who may benefit from this training could be Human Resouces personnel, receptionists or front desk staff who are often a first point of contact.
