LEARNING SUPPORT
Personalised Support for Your Learning
At our college, we are committed to making sure every student has access to the support they need to succeed. Whether you're studying on a 16–18 programme, an apprenticeship, or an adult course, support is available across all our campuses: Loxton, Knightstone, and South West Skills.
We understand that every learner is different. That’s why our support is tailored to you. Our team includes staff with expertise in autism, ADHD, mental health, specific learning difficulties (SpLD), hearing loss, and sight loss. They work together to help you feel confident in your learning and make progress towards your goals.
We follow a ‘graduated response to support’ which means that you can receive support in many ways inside and outside of the classroom.
Support is built around a clear process: Assess – Plan – Do – Review. We’ll work with you to understand what’s working well and where you might need help. Together, we’ll create a plan that fits your needs, put it into action, and review it regularly to make sure it’s helping you move forward.
Depending on what’s right for you, support might include:
- Help with focus, organisation, or managing anxiety
- Access to assistive technology
- Learning materials in different formats
- Adjustments in the classroom or exam arrangements
Our aim is to support you in a way that’s flexible, respectful, and focused on your future, whether that’s gaining qualifications, moving into work, or preparing for adult life.
