Please note, the closing date for work experience applications is Friday 22nd May 2020.

Brickwork

Spend your week working with our brickwork division technician. You’ll get to shadow and assist with the technical duties associated with running busy workshops.

Duties could include:

  • Creating practical demonstration pieces for lecturers
  • Recycling students’ assessed work
  • Repairing and maintaining hand tools
  • Stock checking construction materials
  • Contributing to the décor and repair of the workshop environments and replenishing personal protective equipment

You’ll gain first-hand experience of working in a brickwork environment and have an opportunity to work as part of a highly successful team.

Throughout your week with our marketing department, you will learn what it takes to work in the marketing industry. You will shadow one of our Marketing Officers and learn about how to write articles for our key audiences and upload content onto the website, as well as discover all things social media. You will also have opportunity to voice your ideas about key campaigns aimed at learners your age, to ensure we produce exciting content.

Spend your week shadowing the director and choreographer of our end-of-year show, which will be performed at the Playhouse Theatre.

You will learn the roles and responsibilities of a director, choreographer and performer.

Duties could include assisting with the show’s administration. That may include constructive feedback, stage directions and show planning.

There may also be an opportunity to take part in practical workshops and learn the song, dances and scenes of the show.
