It’s been a busy and exciting month here at Weston College, with UCAS applications in full swing as learners take the next big step toward their futures. We’ve also proudly celebrated T Level Week, recognising the achievements of our learners and the value these qualifications bring to their career journeys.

Multi-Channel Marketer, Apprenticeship

If you have a passion for marketing and want to gain practical experience in the field, a Marketing Assistant Apprenticeship is a great opportunity for you. This apprenticeship programme provides hands-on training and valuable insights into the world of marketing. As a marketing assistant apprentice, you will work closely with experienced professionals, supporting them in various marketing tasks such as market research, content creation, social media management, and campaign coordination. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will develop essential skills like strategic thinking, data analysis, and digital marketing techniques. Join us to kick-start your career in marketing and become a skilled marketing professional.

An apprenticeship provides a unique opportunity to acquire industry-specific qualifications and valuable hands-on experience while earning a salary. You’ll have the chance to work closely with experienced professionals in the marketing industry, meaning you’ll gain practical skills that make you highly employable and give you a head start in your career.

When you study with us you will automatically join our Business Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. Through guest lectures, company visits, work experience and recruitment events, you will have unrivalled access to potential employers – that means invaluable industry insight and numerous networking opportunities. You’ll have the opportunity to work on high-profile local campaigns – previous campaigns have included SEE MONSTER and Visit Somerset. You’ll study in purpose-built classrooms, designed to enhance your learning experience, and you’ll benefit from a wide range of facilities including our new boardroom and business suite. Your mentors will be experienced tutors and assessors who have worked in reputable firms and run their own businesses. They will guide you through your study programme and placement, and ensure you’re fully prepared for your next steps after college.

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE INVOLVE

You will study a range of topics including digital marketing; marketing an event; brand activation, social media influencer marketing; market research for a new business, marketing principles and customer communications.

The qualification is mapped to the Chartered Marketing Institute (CMI) Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing, thereby extending your employment opportunities.

Skills an apprentice will learn:

  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation.

  • Applying creativity to use a website content management system to publish text, images and video/animated content.

  • Use a social media platform to publish text, images, and video content.

  • Use high volume email delivery software to acquire and/or retain one or more market segments and understand the response.

  • Organise offline and digital assets in a coordinated and legally compliant way (there may be several pieces of legislation that a Marketing Assistant may need to comply with, these should be relevant to the sector they work in and the type of activity. Examples include GDPR; Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008; Consumer Credit Act; Copyright, Designs and Patents Act).

  • Able to compile briefs for an external marketing supplier (e.g. printer/display stand producer/graphic designer etc) and oversee successful delivery in line with specification.

  • Write persuasive text to meet a marketing communications objective, using common copywriting techniques.

  • Proofread marketing copy to ensure that it is accurate, persuasive and legally compliant and is on brand.

  • Analyse and present defined external and internal marketing data to inform discussions about planning, delivery and/or evaluation of marketing activities/brand performance.

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets using common business software.

  • Presentations - compile and present marketing information (e.g. to inform internal stakeholders of the results of a marketing tactic or present ideas for future marketing tactics) using common business software, e.g. PowerPoint.

  • Compile a report from a marketing system/software, e.g. CRM, Google Analytics, Dotmailer.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

You will be assessed through 13 assessments over two years which includes one examination.

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

This programme will enable you to progress to employment within the sector or you could progress to a higher-level apprenticeship or Higher Education.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Five GCSE’s grade 9-4 including maths and English. You will also need to be in relevant employment, but we can help you find this. To be an apprentice, you will need to find a suitable employer. Click here for advice
