Access to HE: Computing
This one-year program is designed to provide you with the essential knowledge and skills you need to succeed in higher education and beyond. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of key computing concepts, including programming, computer networks, website design and development as well as completing modules such as Study Skills and Writing Reports to prepare you for university life.

Course Entry Requirements
Applicants should be aged 19 or over. It is expected that applicants should have a GCSE grade 4/C in English and Maths. For both English and maths, Level 2 equivalents will be considered, but applicants must check that this will be accepted by their chosen university* prior to starting on the Access course. Relevant industry experience will also be taken into account should applicants not have the formal entry requirements.
*UCW will accept Level 2 Equivalent Qualifications
Self-study time required for course:
Time outside of class is recommended to support in completion of coursework and independent learning around the topic. This is an intensive course and learners should be made aware that they will be required to use their own time to complete research and produce assignments.
Assessments/Exams needed to complete the course
This Access to HE Diploma is designed to reflect the rigor and demands of undergraduate study. It includes a range of assessment methods such as essays, reports, exams, presentations, and portfolios. The assessments will be spread throughout the year, and you will receive regular feedback to help you progress and develop your skills.
Additional Information:
Please advise all learners that as well as the main qualification they will also be required to complete an additional qualification as part of their course. This could be on personal wellbeing, sustainability or employability.
