Digital , T Level
As the world becomes more digital, having technical, industry skills will be beneficial for your employability, and is perfect for anyone wanting to pursue a career in software production and design.
The T Level is designed and developed in collaboration with employers, this programme is a mixture of classroom and work-based learning to give you the technical skills and workplace experience to kick-start your career into the digital arena. You will complete a core technical qualification with a digital specialism, and an industry placement of at least 315 hours.
Studying this course means that you will also be part of our Computing and IT Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme.
Alongside your course, you can join our Esports academy, train for national competitions and become an ambassador for the area.
What does the course involve?
Within year two of the course, you will work towards the occupational specialist content which will culminate in the development of an externally set project. This will cover the following technical skills required as part of digital production and design, including:
- Designing a software solution to meet a clients’ need
- Implementing a solution using multiple languages
- Applying testing methodologies to the solution
- Gathering and evaluating feedback obtained on product to inform future developments
As part of this study programme, you will develop your Maths and English skills, and attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
How will the course be assessed?
You will be assessed through a number of exams and project work throughout the programme. You will need to complete all elements to achieve the overall T Level.
Are there any additional costs?
Some programmes may require a dress code, this will be discussed further at interview.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
This T Level opens up many opportunities while your industry placement highlights your commitment to the digital industry. You will have opportunities to progress to university degrees, such as Applied Computing at University Centre Weston (UCW), degree apprenticeships or directly to the workplace.
The course is a perfect starting point for progressing into roles such as: web developer or designer, software developer, computer games tester or developer, E-Learning developer, or user experience designer.
