Ceramics, Award
This Art and Design Ceramics Award is the perfect start for anyone wanting to work in the creative arts, design, media and performance industries. You will be introduced to some of the most exciting areas of the creative sector.
You will learn the basic skills needed to continue with further study. You will be encouraged to explore and use the facilities to help you in your artistic endeavours.
Throughout the course, you will be introduced to a range of techniques, including:

Loose Slabbing

Working with texture, slips and impressions.

Keeping and annotating a sketchbook
At Creative Arts Weston we offer stimulating spaces and studios for you to work in, you will be empowered to experiment, make mistakes, and problem solve, as you explore your individual creativity. You will be guided by, and inspired by, working artists with extensive experience in the creative industries. In our exciting but nurturing environment, you will be fully supported by your lecturers to develop confidence, interpersonal skills, and good working practices, all of which will improve your employability.

As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete an extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.

You will be assessed through practical projects in studios and workshops, and written assignments
