Preparing to Work in Prisons
This course is designed to give you the essential skills to be able to confidently work as a support worker. This is a good starting point for anyone intending to work in Adult or Prison Education or who will be responsible for supporting and developing learners in their workplace.
Upon successful completion, you will be guaranteed an interview for a one of our many Learner Support roles at HMP Five Wells. (Northamptonshire)
This is a very exciting opportunity for anyone who is keen to make a difference and have a positive impact on other people's lives.

- The roles, responsibilities of a Support Worker in Prison Education
- Inclusive learning and teaching support approaches
- Safeguarding in Education Settings
- An insight to working within Prison Education
- Application and Interview Preparation
Assessment
You will be completing two qualifications and as part of the assessment process you will be required to complete assignments.
Entry Requirements
No entry requirements Prospective learners must be over 19, you will need a good knowledge of IT as this course will be delivered virtually by Microsoft teams.
Future Career and Study Opportunities
Once you complete this course there will be opportunities to complete an Award in Education and Training Level 3 which will allow to teach in Prisons.
