Embark on an exciting journey in the world of live events with our Live Event Technician Apprenticeship. This 30-month apprenticeship programme offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in the fast-paced and dynamic field of live event production. As a live event technician apprentice, you will have the chance to work alongside industry professionals, learning the ropes of audio, lighting, video, and staging setups for concerts, conferences, and other live performances.
Live Event Technicians work in a range of settings and provide technical solutions for live performances and events across the UK, Europe and Worldwide. These events range from concerts, festivals, theatrical performances, exhibitions, conferences, product launches or showcases. The main responsibility of a Live Event Technician is to prepare, build, set up and operate industry-standard equipment for live events. Technicians will interact with a range of people including venue staff, touring staff, production managers performers, designers, and producers.

You’ll become part of our Creative Arts Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading industry partners, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. This provides unrivalled access to potential employers and the opportunity to develop your creative network. You will benefit from studio visits, gigging opportunities, work experience and guest lectures from industry professionals. As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, and attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete an extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.

ASSESSMENT METHOD
The End-Point Assessment (EPA) will consist of 2 distinct components:
- Professional discussion supported by a portfolio of evidence.
- Practical observation with questioning.
Performance in the EPA will determine your overall apprenticeship grade i.e., pass or distinction.
FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
On completion, apprentices will receive a level 3 standard apprenticeship and will be able to apply for positions within the live event industry such as audio/visual technician, Fly and automation operator and event logistics and planning.
The skills and knowledge acquired can lead to a variety of roles from on-site Technician to in-house Project Manager, and potentially to the Account Managers & Production Managers of the future.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no other formal qualifications required to start this apprenticeship, but you will be assessed to ensure you can complete the English and maths qualification to at least level 2 (Grade 4). Entrants must be comfortable working at heights.
