What level of CIPD membership will I gain?
Once you’re registered for a qualification, you’ll need to join the CIPD as a Student Member from the start of your studies, this is completed by you directly with the CIPD as this is your professional membership. It’s essential to maintain your Student Membership until your studies are completed. Your CIPD membership and qualification work together to ensure your knowledge is recognised both inside and outside the people profession. Through membership, the CIPD will support and encourage you throughout your studies. You'll gain access to our lowest membership rate (fees are 40% reduced for Student Members) as well as extensive study resources and the opportunity to build your network through our local branches, online communities and student conferences. When you complete your qualification, you’ll be awarded CIPD Associate Membership, and the designation “Assoc CIPD” after your name. This establishes your credibility as a professional, raises your profile and opens doors to new job opportunities.
How you will be assessed
The course is assessed internally via coursework. There are no examinations. Candidates are also required to maintain a continuous professional development record throughout the course. Entry requirements
Candidates will need to have completed a level 3 CIPD qualification to progress to this course. If you do not have the Level 3 qualification you should have significant experience of working in HR/People Practice and ideally have a degree level qualification.
Candidates will also need to have GCSE English Language grade 4 or above (previously C or above) or an equivalent Level 2 English Language Qualification.
Prospective learners whose first language is not English must demonstrate a high standard of both spoken and written English to register onto a CIPD qualification. Acceptable assessment tools of assessing the English Language ability of prospective learners are detailed below.
All assessments must have been taken within the last two years. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Intermediate level programmes, a score of 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each category.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet based test - Intermediate level programmes, a score of 79 overall with a minimum of 17 in each category.
- Pearsons Test of English - Intermediate level programmes, a score of 54 overall with a minimum of 51 in each category. You will need to provide proof of this at interview stage.
