Production Chef, Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship will give allow you to develop skills in cooking under challenging kitchen environments, as production chefs often work in stressful contexts, for example schools, hospitals, the Armed Forces, care homes and high street casual dining or pub kitchens. You will learn high quality communication and teamwork skills to work effectively.
Studying this course means that you will also be part of our Hospitality and Catering Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading employers, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme.
What does the course involve?
As a production chef, you will likely work with centrally developed standardised recipes and menus, often producing food in high volumes. You will learn to apply highly methodical organisational skills, energy, accuracy, and attention to detail and will be mindful of the importance of sustainability and protecting the environment.
How will the course be assessed?
You will do a knowledge test at each milestone meeting.
Are there any additional costs?
You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform which will be available on the college shop.
What future study opportunities and careers are there?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can progress to become a Level 3.
